Deniz Wendaff: Everything is going well so far, and I will maintain this momentum and continue moving forward.

In the second round of the 2026 World Cup group stage, Germany came from behind to defeat Ivory Coast 2-1 in Toronto, securing their second consecutive victory. Trailing in the first half, the team rallied through a brace from substitute Deniz Windaff to complete the comeback. With this win, Germany tops Group E with 6 points, securing their place in the Round of 16. After the match, head coach Julian Nagelsmann and the players provided their post-match analysis.  

Head coach Julian Nagelsmann said: "The team started slowly, but had a good run after getting into the game. However, we conceded a goal in a relatively solid situation. To our credit, we responded very positively afterward. I am very proud of the performance of the substitutes; the whole team played an excellent game."
