Dan Byrne admitted that he has been maintaining a state of readiness and is ready to help the team in the World Cup.

England international Dan Burn says he's ready for his World Cup debut if given the opportunity in the match against Ghana. The 34-year-old centre-back will be making his World Cup debut with the national team. Burn did not play in England's 4-2 victory over Croatia at AT&T Stadium in Texas, USA, watching the second half from the bench.  

Dan Burn has now made eight appearances for England. He stated that he understood his role in the team before the match, but he is ready to step up and help whenever manager Thomas Tuchel needs him. Burn said, "You have to always be ready. Sometimes it's not the best player who scores in the last minute to help the team advance to the knockout stage; you just have to stay prepared and wait for your chance."  

“I know I’m unlikely to be a starter when I come to this tournament. But if the coach starts me against Ghana, I’m fine with that too. The important thing is to always be ready for a possible opportunity to play and to execute the coach’s tactical requirements.”  

"Of course I hope to start, but I am also aware that I may play different roles in the game. For example, I may come on to solidify the advantage when the team is in the lead, or play against opponents with strong set-piece ability, or come on to change the course of the game when a goal is needed."  

“We have conducted specific training for these scenarios, but details outside of training are equally important, such as simulating match scenarios and visually rehearsing our actions on the field. These help me prepare better. I have scored crucial goals in some important matches, which gives me more confidence and makes me believe that I have the ability to do so.”  

Dan Byrne stated that his role on the team extends beyond playing time; it also includes fostering competition and growth among players in his position. He said, "One of my roles is to encourage players in my position to stay competitive and continuously improve."  

"Players must adapt to the match environment. We have already completed our pre-match training camp in West Palm Beach and have been training continuously in high temperatures, so environmental factors will not be a major problem. However, only in the official match can we test whether the team can maintain the expected rhythm for 90 minutes. The current rule of five substitutions also helps the team maintain its overall intensity during the match."  

Dan Byrne was deeply impressed by the sight of fans chanting "Wonderwall" after the victory over Croatia. He said, "I was smiling the whole time; it was very special to me. My family was there too, and it was wonderful to share this victory with them. This game set the tone for the team, and hopefully we can build on that."
