In the Southeast Asia Qualifier Finals of The International 2026 (TI 2026) for Dota 2, OG defeated Grind Back, led by 23savage, with a score of 3-1, successfully securing the only qualifying spot for the region.
This marks OG's return to the TI stage after four years since their participation in 2022. Coincidentally, this year's TI will be held in Shanghai, the very place where OG won their second Aegis of Champions in 2019.
With OG's advancement, they become the fourth team to qualify for TI 2026 through regional qualifiers. Prior to this, Team Resilience and Vici Gaming from the Chinese region, and LGD Gaming from the South American region had already secured their spots.
This season, OG replaced their original European roster with an all-Filipino lineup, including Natsumi-, Yopaj, Raven, TIMS, and Skem. Although the team achieved results such as a top-four finish in BLAST Slam VI at the beginning of the season, they have recently suffered a series of early eliminations.
Before the qualifiers, OG made an emergency roster adjustment, ultimately deciding to have Raven play the offlane position, a change that ultimately paid off for the team.
In this Southeast Asia closed-door qualifier, OG, as a directly invited team, demonstrated their strength, defeating Interactive Philippines, GLYPH and REKONIX to advance to the finals.
In the finals, facing the dark horse Grind Back, who had fought their way through the qualifiers by eliminating many strong teams, OG won three consecutive games after losing the first one, ending the suspense with a 3-1 victory and successfully securing their TI ticket.
