Former Arsenal legend Aaron Ramsey appointed as new manager of Oxford United

Oxford United Football Club in England has officially announced the appointment of Aaron Ramsey as the new head coach of the club's men's first team.

The 35-year-old Ramsey is considered one of the most promising young coaches in Britain. He previously worked in the coaching staff of the Welsh national team and served as the interim manager of Cardiff City.

As a legendary Welsh footballer, Ramsey had an illustrious career, making over 400 appearances for Arsenal and Juventus, and representing the national team in the European Championship and the World Cup.

At the end of the 2024-25 season, Ramsey began his transition to the coaching staff at Cardiff City. Club chairman Bogdanovic and director of football operations Waldren both highly praised Ramsey's coaching philosophy and ambition, believing he was the right person to lead the club into a new phase.

After accepting the appointment, Ramsey said: "It is an honor to be appointed as the manager of Oxford United. Through my interactions with the club, I can feel their ambition and desire for success, which excites me greatly. This is a moment I have been preparing for for many years."

Oxford United are about to begin their preseason and make roster adjustments; the coaching staff for Ramsey will be announced later.
