Union Berlin has confirmed that it has reached a contract extension agreement with Andrić Markgraf, who will continue to play for the team in the future.

Union Berlin has officially announced that 20-year-old full-back Andrić Markgraf has reached a contract extension agreement with the club and will continue to play for the team. Born and raised in Berlin, the player joined the club's youth academy from the U12 level, and this contract extension signifies that his development trajectory will continue at Union Berlin.

Andrej Makgraf has been systematically trained by the club's youth teams at all levels since 2016, and has gradually developed into one of the most consistent defensive players in his age group. He has played more than 50 official matches for the U19 team and participated in the UEFA Youth League, facing teams such as Real Madrid, Napoli, and Braga.

Thanks to his outstanding attacking involvement on the left flank and solid defensive performance, Andrej Makgraf secured his first professional contract in the summer of 2025. Since then, the left-footed full-back has frequently trained with the first team, accumulating valuable high-level training experience.

After signing the contract extension, Andreik Markgraf said: "Union Berlin has been my home for many years, and I am proud to continue this journey and honored to have the club's trust. I hope to improve every day and strive to take on more responsibility in the first team."

Club sporting director Horst Helter said: "Andrei Markgraf has made continuous progress over the past few years and has proven his potential to establish himself in the professional arena. Even after missing a long period of time due to injury in the 2025/26 season, he made a successful return and demonstrated his focus and professionalism again. We hope to continue to provide him with a platform that will help him grow and move to a higher level."
