Augsburg announced on their official website on Wednesday that they have extended the loan spell of Stuttgart defensive midfielder Yannik Keitel.
According to Augsburg's official statement, Keitel's loan spell has been extended until the end of the new season, and the loan agreement includes a non-mandatory buy-out clause.
After completing his joining procedures, Keitel, who was interviewed by the Augsburg official webiste again, said: "From the first day I joined Augsburg, I felt at home, so I'm happy to continue staying at Augsburg. The negotiations with the club went very smoothly, and I thank them for their trust in me. Injuries made last season difficult, but I hope to give my all in preseason and make a greater contribution to the team in the new season."
About Yannik Keitel
The 26-year-old Keitel was born on February 15, 2000, in Breisach am Rhine, Germany. He is 1.86 meters tall and primarily plays as a defensive midfielder, but can also play as a center-back.
Keitel joined Freiburg's youth academy since he was young, started playing for the reserve team in 2018 before completing his first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in February 2020.
After his contract expired in the summer of 2024, Keitel joined Stuttgart on a free transfer.
During his time at Stuttgart, he won the DFB-Pokal once with the club.
In January 2026, Keitel joined Augsburg on loan.
Since joining Augsburg, Keitel has so far made 6 appearances for the Bundesliga club in all competitions, but has yet to score or assist.
