Wagler was drafted 5th overall in the NBA draft and joined the Clippers to begin a new chapter in his professional career.

June 25 - According to the Associated Press, the Los Angeles Clippers selected 19-year-old guard Keaton Wagler with the 5th overall pick in this year's NBA draft.

“It’s crazy to see all of this happen so fast, especially since I wasn’t considered a good candidate and didn’t receive much attention. I never expected it to happen so quickly,” Wagler said.

Before the draft, Wagler had a three-day workout with the Clippers and was deeply impressed by the team culture. He said, "I felt a strong sense of belonging with the management, coaching staff, and players. This is where I want to be."

Last season, Wagler scored 19 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists against the UCLA Bruins and contributed 20 points against the USC Trojans , showcasing his all-around skills.

Since his new teammate Isaiah Jackson was already wearing number 23, Wagner ultimately chose to start his NBA career wearing number 1. " It's a completely new experience, my first time in the NBA, and number 1 feels pretty good, " he said.
