Darlin Peterson, who has attracted the attention of the Utah Jazz, aims for an NBA championship.

Darrin Peterson, 19, was selected second overall in the 2026 NBA draft by the Utah Jazz. Peterson stated that his goal is to win an NBA championship and he aims to achieve his dream in a faster way.

Darrin Peterson, who plays shooting guard, came from the University of Kansas Eagles and played 24 games in the 2025/26 season, averaging 20.2 points per game with a field goal percentage of 43.8% and a three-point percentage of 38.2%.

Darlin Peterson said in an interview, "My goal is to win the championship, and the sooner the better. We just need to add a few more pieces to the puzzle."

“I’m completely back from my injuries, in fact, I’ve never felt this good. I’ve finally found my true self again, and I’m incredibly excited. I took control of everything I could and pulled through. Because of what I’ve been through, people will definitely have all sorts of opinions. But I’ve worked incredibly hard my whole life, and I will continue to do so. I’ve found my true self again.”

Darrin Peterson shared, "I always wanted to be the number one pick, and the Washington Wizards had the number one pick, so I only did workouts with them. After all, who doesn't want to be the number one pick? But I was really impressed after meeting the Utah Jazz during the Combine."

“I tell the people around me that I have great chemistry with Sir Alex Ferguson. I won’t be disappointed at all if they select me.”

Darrin Peterson also stated, "I am very grateful for this opportunity, and I am ready to go to Utah and get to work. I am highly motivated and excited to be a part of this team.
