G2 official announcement: SunPayus has been relegated to the bench, and r1nkle will replace him.

G2's CS2 team announced on Wednesday that Álvaro Garcia (ID: SunPayus) has been relegated to the bench, effective immediately.

SunPayus, 27, is from Spain and has played for several CS:GO teams throughout his career, including Myrtia Wolves Blue, Tenerife Titans, einheit, KPI, Wygers, Caronte, Iberian Family, Movistar Riders, ENCE, Falcons, and HEROIC. His most notable achievement was winning the 2023 IEM Dallas championship with ENCE.

In July 2025, SunPayus replaced Ilya Osipov (ID: m0NESY) as G2's sniper. To date, he has played 215 maps and participated in 4657 rounds for G2, with an average personal rating of 1.05, and won the 2025 BLAST London Open and Stake Ranked Season 1 championship with the team.

SunPayus' successor is in place.

Along with confirming the demotion of SunPayus, G2 signed Artem Moroz (ID: r1nkle) from Ukraine from NIP. He will replace SunPayus in G2's starting lineup and travel with the team to the BLAST Bounty Season 2 tournament from July 21 to 26.

The 21-year-old r1nkle previously played for Marlian, ex-Marlian, and B8 before officially joining NIP in April 2024. He has played a total of 415 maps and participated in 9086 rounds for NIP, with an average rating of 1.10. He also helped the team reach Stage 2 of the 2025 StarLadder Budapest Major.

However, r1nkle has not played for NIP since being demoted in April of this year. This move to G2 means that r1nkle will return to the professional scene after a two-month hiatus.

Following a series of personnel adjustments, G2's current roster is tentatively set as follows:

Commander: Nemanja Kovac (ID: huNter-)

Rifleman: Matush Shimko (ID: MATYS)

Rifleman: Nikita Martinenko (ID: HeavyGod)

Rifleman: Guy Iluz (ID: NertZ)

Sniper: Artem Moroz (ID: r1nkle)

Coach: Etu Saha (ID: sAw)
