Manchester City have finalized a £116 million deal for Nottingham Forest midfielder Anderson, setting a new club record transfer fee.

Manchester City have reached a transfer agreement with Nottingham Forest to officially sign midfielder Elliot Anderson.

It is understood that the transfer fee is a staggering £116 million. This deal will not only break Manchester City's all-time transfer fee record but will also make Anderson the most expensive English footballer ever. Nottingham Forest have already allowed the 23-year-old England midfielder to undergo a medical with his new club at an appropriate time.

Anderson is currently with the England national team at the World Cup in the United States and has started in the first two group stage matches. With England facing Panama in their final group stage match on Saturday, Manchester City and Nottingham Forest are still discussing the specific timing of Anderson's medical examination.

However, the player's personal terms are not expected to be an obstacle to this transfer. Manchester City made an initial offer for Anderson in early June, but it was subsequently rejected by Nottingham Forest.

Anderson's current contract with Nottingham Forest was originally set to run until 2029. Last season, thanks to his outstanding performance, he has grown into one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League, making him Manchester City's top transfer target this summer.

England manager Thomas Tuchel spoke highly of Anderson during the World Cup training camp, calling him an all-around player and believing that transfer rumors would not distract him from the game.
