Paris Saint-Germain begins transfer negotiations for Jan Diormand

According to media reports, French Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain is in advanced talks with RB Leipzig in an attempt to sign 19-year-old Ivorian international winger Yan Diomande.

It is understood that this transfer market darling has clearly expressed his preference for joining the French Ligue 1 giants. Previously, Premier League side Liverpool also showed strong interest in Diomande and were once willing to pay a transfer fee of £86 million.

However, RB Leipzig's asking price was significantly higher than that figure. Liverpool's unwillingness to further increase their offer cleared a major obstacle for Paris Saint-Germain in their pursuit of the player.

Paris Saint-Germain has reached an agreement with Diomande on a long-term contract until 2031, but transfer fee negotiations between the two clubs are still ongoing. Manchester City is also closely monitoring the situation.

Liverpool, under new manager Andoni Iraola, are actively seeking several attacking players to fill the void left by Mohamed Salah's departure. Prior to this, Liverpool had already thwarted a potential deal from Newcastle United, signing Osasuna's Spanish winger Víctor Muñoz for £34.5 million.

With the race for Diomande gradually shifting towards Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool may have to turn their attention to other transfer targets in the future.
