Enzo Maresca officially takes over as Manchester City manager, aiming to continue the team's success.

Manchester City Football Club has announced that Italian Enzo Maresca has officially succeeded Pep Guardiola as the team's new manager, signing a three-year contract.

Manchester City achieved tremendous success during Guardiola's ten years in charge. The 46-year-old Maresca previously had impressive tenures at Chelsea and Leicester City.

Meanwhile, Maresca is also very familiar with Manchester City, having served as manager of the Manchester City Development Team and as a key member of Guardiola's coaching staff during the historic treble-winning season of 2022-23.

In an interview with Manchester City's official website, Maresca said: "It's a huge challenge for many reasons. But at the same time, it's also a wonderful challenge, building on all the success we've achieved over the past 10 to 15 years. It's exciting because the goal is to continue or extend that very good time from the last decade or the last few years."

Regarding his third return to the club, Maresca said, "I'm very excited... First of all, I know how great this club is. I hope this is my last time coming back, and I never leave again!"

Thanks to his understanding of Manchester City's football philosophy and tactics, Maresca made it clear that his next task would be evolution rather than disruption. He emphasized that his excellent relationships with the club's management and many current first-team players are invaluable.
