Deschamps responds to grief over his mother's passing, insisting the French team will maintain its attacking threat.

France will face Sweden in the Round of 32 of the World Cup on Tuesday. At the pre-match press conference, French coach Didier Deschamps, who recently grieving the loss of his mother, reiterated that the team will not change its attacking style.

After a brief return home last week due to his mother's passing, Deschamps returned to training camp on Friday, saying it was good to keep himself busy. He expressed his deep gratitude for the support the team provided during his time of distress. During his absence, FIFA rejected France's request to wear black armbands during matches.

Deschamps admitted, "Frankly, this decision doesn't change much for me. I don't need it. With everything the players and staff have done, and all the information I've received, I don't need a formality; I've already received enough."

When discussing the upcoming knockout stage and the outside world's assessment of France as a "tournament favorite," Deschamps remained calm. He said, "We were labeled as a title favorite before, and after the performance of the last three matches, that label still exists."

"But now everything is back to square one. We are preparing for a match within a match. We have to face a team that has nothing to lose and can cause us some trouble. We are confident, but not arrogant, and in terms of intention, we will try to continue our performance from the group stage."

Despite scoring 10 goals in the group stage, the French team also exposed some weaknesses in their defense. Facing external doubts, Deschamps insisted on a strategy of overwhelming opponents with an attacking approach. He emphasized, "We scored 10 goals in the group stage, and we could have scored more."

"At the same time, we also gave up too many scoring opportunities. I think some people might wonder if we can do this? But this is what we did four years ago, and other teams are doing the same thing."
