World Cup – Tielemans scores twice as Belgium defeats Senegal 3-2 in a dramatic victory.

The 2026 World Cup continued with key matches among the 32 teams. Belgium, playing at the Lumen Stadium, came back from a two-goal deficit to defeat Senegal 3-2 thanks to goals from Lukaku and Tielemans.

Nine minutes into the match, Belgium created an attacking opportunity. Castagne passed the ball back to Trossard, who unleashed a shot, but it was caught by Senegalese goalkeeper Mauri Dio. In the 13th minute, Senegalese striker Ismaila Sarr, who plays for Crystal Palace, received the ball and shot, but the ball hit the post.

In the 117th minute, Diego Moreira crossed the ball, and Tielemans was tripped by Lamín Camara while trying to receive it. Lukebakio's shot hit the post. Subsequently, the referee reviewed VAR and determined that Lamín Camara had fouled Tielemans earlier, therefore awarding Belgium a penalty.

Then, Tielemans converted a penalty, giving Belgium a 3-2 lead. Ultimately, Belgium staged a remarkable comeback, defeating Senegal 3-2 and securing their place in the round of 16.
