Real Betis announced on their official website on Tuesday that they have signed Uruguay international defensive midfielder Facundo Bernal from Fluminense.

According to the La Liga club's official statement, Bernal has signed on a long-term five-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2031.

About Facundo Bernal

The 22-year-old Facundo Bernal was born on August 21, 2003, in Montevideo, Uruguay. He is 1.89 meters tall and plays as a defensive midfielder. He holds dual Uruguayan and Italian citizenship.

Bernal joined Defensor Sporting's youth academy at a young age and completed his Defensor Sporting first-team debut in June 2021.

During his three-and-a-half-year spell with Defensor Sporting, Bernal won the Uruguayan Cup twice.

In August 2024, Bernal joined Fluminense for €2.75 million.

During his two-year spell with Fluminense, Bernal made 83 appearances and provided 3 assists in all competitions for the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A club.
