Charles Brazil returned to the Warriors on a one-year contract and will continue to serve as a substitute in the new season.

The Golden State Warriors announced Thursday that they have officially re-signed center Charles Bazis. According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the two sides have reached a one-year contract agreement.

All indications suggest that this signing was primarily to fill the void in the frontcourt left by Quinn Post's departure. Before welcoming back the Brazilian, the Warriors decided not to match the Memphis Grizzlies' offer for Post. Ultimately, Post signed a three-year, $30 million contract with the Grizzlies.

Returning to the Bay Area, the 25-year-old Brazilian will be entering his sixth NBA season. As the 53rd overall pick in the second round of the 2021 NBA draft, Brazilian played for the Philadelphia 76ers, San Antonio Spurs, Memphis Grizzlies, and Boston Celtics before joining the Warriors. During that time, he played 119 regular season games, averaging 4.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 0.8 assists in 10.7 minutes per game, with a 63.7% field goal percentage.

Brazil also played for the Delaware Blue Jackets, Austin Spurs, and Santa Cruz Warriors in the G League. Statistically, he played a total of 47 games in the G League, averaging 20.3 points, 10.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 2.5 blocks in 29.5 minutes per game, with a field goal percentage of 64.0% and a three-point percentage of 38.6%.

In April of this year, Brazil signed a contract with the Warriors until the end of the 2026/27 season. He then played 5 regular season games for the Warriors, averaging 10.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.4 blocks in 20.0 minutes per game, with a field goal percentage of 67.7%.

With Brazil officially returning, the Warriors' roster for next season has secured 11 spots. He is expected to continue playing a rotation role in the paint, likely following Kristaps Porzingis and Al Horford in the playing order.
