Former 76ers center Charles Bacey joins Warriors on a one-year contract, returning to the Western Conference.

July 12th news, According to ESPN , former Philadelphia 76ers center Charles Bacey has reached a one-year contract agreement with the Golden State Warriors. Bacey will return to the Western Conference for the 2026-27 season.

It is reported that the Warriors previously decided not to match the Grizzlies' offer for Quentin Poster, and Poster ultimately joined the Memphis Grizzlies. The Warriors, on the other hand, opted to sign Bessie to bolster their frontcourt .

Bessie was selected by the 76ers in the 2021 NBA Draft . The 76ers selected the center from Western Kentucky University with the 53rd overall pick in the second round , and he was one of the two interior players selected by the team that year.

Bessie played only one full season with the 76ers . In the 2021-22 season, he played 23 games for the team , averaging 7.3 minutes, 3.0 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. He also played for the team's G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Jackets.

After leaving the 76ers , Bessie played for the San Antonio Spurs for several seasons and bounced around to multiple teams during the 2025-26 season. He briefly joined the Memphis Grizzlies before returning to the 76ers on several 10- day contracts , but ultimately only played one game.
