Hennessy Behrens has officially joined Augsburg and signed a contract with the club until June 2031.

Augsburg have officially announced the signing of Henness Behrens to further strengthen their squad. The 21-year-old left-back, formerly of Hoffenheim, has officially joined Augsburg on a long-term contract, working with the club until June 30, 2031.  

Hennessy Behrens developed through Hoffenheim's youth academy and made his Bundesliga debut for the team. In the second half of last season, the left-back was loaned to Heidenheim, where he quickly adapted to the pace of the game and showed good form. He made 16 appearances for the team, starting 15 of them, and scored one goal.  

Although Hennessy Behrens' primary position is left-back, his excellent adaptability and tactical flexibility allow this right-footed player to also play as a center-back. After joining Augsburg, he will wear the number 16 jersey for the team in the new season.  

Augsburg's sporting director, Benny Weber, said: "We are delighted that Hennessy Behrens has chosen to come to Augsburg and continue his professional development. Although still young, he has already gained considerable experience in the Bundesliga and proven himself capable of competing at the highest level. He possesses excellent physical attributes and good technical skills, which are a perfect fit for our team's needs."  

Henness Behrens said after officially joining the team: "I am very much looking forward to starting a new phase in Augsburg. I believe my strengths will fit well into the team's system, and this is a place where I can continue to improve and develop. Augsburg has given me the opportunity to take the next step in my career, and I am looking forward to joining my teammates in preseason training as soon as possible."
