Iraola hopes to manage Liverpool for many more years.

Andoni Iraola, from Spain, was appointed Liverpool's new manager in June and signed a two-year contract. In a press conference, Iraola stated that he hopes to manage Liverpool for many more years, adding that he has always maintained the same attitude.

Andoni Iraola, 44, previously managed Bournemouth, leading the "Berries" to a Europa League spot in the 2025/26 Premier League season.

Following Sloan's dismissal, Andoni Iraola became Liverpool's new manager.

"This is a huge challenge for me, but also a fresh start," Andoni Iraola said at a press conference. "With midweek games on most weeks next season, we'll have more opportunities to give more players playing time."

"It's impossible to cope with such a dense schedule with just a few players. We need to rely on the whole team, especially in December and January when the schedule will be even more difficult."

It's worth noting that Salah and Robertson officially left Liverpool after many years at the end of last season, and Ekitic, Connor Bradley, and Giovanni Leoni are still recovering from injuries. Therefore, improving the team's overall ability will be Andoni Iraola's top priority.

Andoni Iraola said, "I want the team to be able to attack in the opponent's half for a long time and keep creating chances. I will not change the 'genes' of my team on the field, and I want to maintain the most natural style of football as much as possible. I have spoken with the players and coaching staff and discussed what the team is doing well and what needs to be changed. I want to emphasize that we are pursuing 'different,' not just 'better.'"

“I will ask the players what position they feel is best suited to play so that I can really understand them. I will observe their training, conduct some tests during preseason, and then make a decision based on those results.”
