Bologna completes contract extension with veteran Lorenzo De Silvestri..

Bologna announced on their official website on Thursday that they have extended the contract of their veteran former Italian international right-back Lorenzo De Silvestri.

According to Bologna's official statement, De Silvestri has signed on a new short-term one-year deal with the club which will only run until the summer of 2027.

About Lorenzo De Silvestri

The 38-year-old De Silvestri was born on May 23, 1988, in Rome, Italy. He is 1.87 meters tall and plays as a right-back.

De Silvestri joined Lazio's youth academy at a young age and made his first-team debut for Lazio in July 2005 at the age of 17 in a UEFA Intertoto Cup match.

During his three-year spell with I Biancocelesti, De Silvestri won the Coppa Italia once.

In August 2009, De Silvestri moved to Fiorentina for €5.75 million.

During his three-year spell with I Viola, De Silvestri's impressive performances earned him a place in the Italian national team.

In the summer of 2012, De Silvestri was loaned-out to Sampdoria for two years, with his ownership rights being permanently bought out in the summer of 2014.

In August 2016, De Silvestri moved to Torino for €3.5 million.

After his contract expired in September 2020, De Silvestri joined Bologna as a free agent.

Since becoming a member of I Veltri, De Silvestri has so far made 126 appearances for the Serie A club in all competitions, scoring 9 goals and providing 2 assists.
