Como has officially announced the signing of Andres Cuenca, with a contract running until the summer of 2030.

Como 1907 has officially confirmed the signing of a new player, with Spanish center-back Andrés Cuenca from Barcelona joining the team. The young defender, born in 2007, joined Como on a buy-out agreement, signing a contract that runs until the summer of 2030.  

Andrés Cuenca is a product of the Spanish youth academy, having received training at Villafranca, Córdoba, and Sevilla. In 2019, he joined Barcelona's renowned La Masia youth academy, where he continued to hone his skills. During his time at Barcelona, this young center-back gradually emerged as a key player in the club's defense, representing the team in numerous UEFA Youth League matches.  

In the 2024/25 season, Andrés Cuenca became a key player for Barcelona's U19 team, helping them win the UEFA Youth League title. He scored a goal in the final against Trabzonspor U19, contributing to a 4-1 victory. Subsequently, the young center-back gradually secured a regular place at Atlético Barcelona, making his first-team debut in the 2024 Champions League group stage match against Young Boys.  

In the second half of the 2025/26 season, Andrés Cuenca was loaned to Sporting Gijón to further improve his skills through more professional matches. At the national team level, this young center-back has long represented Spain's youth teams, participating in major tournaments such as the U17 World Cup, U20 World Cup, U17 European Championship, and U19 European Championship. Recently, he also won the 2026 U19 European Championship with the Spanish U19 national team, once again demonstrating his ability and future potential.  

Como coach Cesc Favregas spoke highly of Andrés Cuenca's arrival, saying, "Andrés Cuenca is a young defender with outstanding technical skills. He possesses excellent physical attributes, a positive attitude, and strong potential. He developed through Barcelona's youth academy and has already made appearances for the Champions League first team. As a modern center-back, he not only participates in the organization of the defense but also has excellent ball control. We believe he can continue to improve at Como and play an important role in the team's future plans. Welcome to the team."  

After completing the transfer, Andres Cuenca shared his excitement, saying, "I am very happy to join Como and look forward to wearing the team jersey and making my debut as soon as possible. Since arriving here, I have been very impressed with the city and everything around me. Como is a beautiful place and the people are very welcoming. I believe the team will achieve great things in the new season, and I will stay focused in training every day and do my best to help the team achieve its goals."
