Al-Hilal signed Dutch international Somerwell for £60 million.

Saudi professional league giants Al-Hilal have officially announced the signing of 24-year-old Dutch winger Crysencio Summerville from West Ham United.

According to Sky Sports, the deal is worth a total of £60 million, including an initial transfer fee of £55 million and £5 million in add-ons. Somerville has signed a four-year contract with the club.

This is the third-highest player sale in West Ham United's history. Despite their unfortunate relegation to the Championship, West Ham United have already recouped over £150 million this summer just from the sales of Somerville and Mateus Fernandes.

Somerville made 34 appearances for West Ham United last season, contributing 7 goals and 5 assists; he then played 4 games for the Netherlands at the 2026 World Cup, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists, delivering an impressive performance.

Previously, Serie A club Roma had made a £39 million offer but it was rejected, and Manchester United had also expressed interest. With Al-Hilal matching nearly double that offer, West Ham United quickly reached an agreement.

After joining the team, Somerville will play alongside renowned players such as Benzema, Theo Hernandez, and Ruben Neves, all under the leadership of coach Simone Inzaghi.
