LeBron James will join the 76ers; this is his final decision.

LeBron James, 41, officially announced on Friday that he will join the Philadelphia 76ers to begin his 24th season in the NBA and make a run for his fifth NBA championship.

Agent Rich Paul revealed that James will sign a two-year, $8 million contract with a player option. Last season, he earned close to $53 million with the Los Angeles Lakers.

This decision marked the end of LeBron James' eight-year career with the Lakers. James subsequently posted on social media, sharing his thoughts and feelings. He admitted that he had considered retirement after the previous season, but after careful reflection, he realized he still loved basketball and still had the energy to contribute.

"This is my final decision. I'm not playing for money, and I'm not playing for my family. Right now, what am I playing for?" James wrote on social media. "I still crave to give, to train, to fight, to compete and win, and to experience the feeling of winning a championship again."

"I believe I can help the Philadelphia 76ers become a championship team, and I'm very excited to bring energy to a new fan base and kick off this incredible journey one last time."

LeBron James will join the 76ers, who already boast Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and newly acquired Jaylen Brown, in a quest to end their 43-year championship drought. Chris Paul also confirmed that James and his son Bronny are not tied to each other and there are currently no plans to bring him to Philadelphia.
