Arsenal youngster Kalan Hamill signs his first professional contract extension.

Arsenal Football Club has officially announced that academy-trained defensive star Callan Hamill has signed his first professional contract ahead of the 2026-27 season, securing his place at Arsenal.

This versatile young Scottish defender joined Arsenal from St. Johnstone at the beginning of last season and quickly established himself in the youth academy.

Last season, Hamil made 38 appearances for the youth academy across various competitions, including the FA Youth Cup and the Premier League U21, wearing the captain's armband and appearing in the UEFA Youth League. He also made four appearances for the Scotland U17 national team and earned the opportunity to train with Arsenal's first team.

After completing the signing, Hamill expressed his joy and anticipation in an interview: "I am really happy to have completed the signing and I am very much looking forward to the future. Last year I left my hometown to come to Arsenal and had a great year. I hope to continue to do well in the future."

Speaking about his experience training in the youth academy and the first team, Hamil said, "I think I left a good impression. Last season, I had the opportunity to train with the first team several times, and the veteran players gave me a lot of guidance on details. Listening to the advice of top players can help me become better."

“I’m very proud to represent my country and to wear the Arsenal shirt. I hope to continue my good form this season and eventually develop into a true Arsenal first-team player and play more games.”
