Barcelona's new signing Adyemi said he is not afraid to compete with his teammates for playing time and firmly believes that he will get the chance to play if he performs at his best.
The 24-year-old Adyemi previously played for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, making 28 appearances in the 2025/26 season, contributing 7 goals and 5 assists. He also scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists in the Champions League.
"I'm not afraid of any player. I know that as long as I give my best performance, I will definitely get a chance to play," said winger Adyemi.
When discussing the role played by head coach Flick in his move to Barcelona, Adyemi said, "I don't think the word 'persuasion' is accurate. He just called and asked me if I wanted to join Barcelona. Of course, I answered yes, because it's the greatest club in the world, and such an opportunity may only come once in a lifetime."
“He doesn’t need to convince me at all. I’ve always trusted and respected him a lot. I hope he can see that I can help the team on the field. He knew me very well when he was with the German national team, and we’ve always had a good relationship.”
In addition, Adyemi said, "My speed is a major strength, but I can contribute even more in a game. I'm good at using my speed to break through defenses, and I also have good one-on-one ability. I can play as a winger or a center forward. I consider myself a very well-rounded player, and that's what makes me different from other players."
