Torino announced on their official website on Thursday that they have signed center-backs Eray Cömert and Pietro Comuzzo from Valencia and Fiorentina respectively.
According to Torino's official statement, Cömert has signed on a short-term two-year deal with the club which will only run until the summer of 2028, meanwhile Comuzzo will play for the club on-loan until the end of the new season, with an option to buy.
Furthermore, according to Sky Sports' resident renowned Italian transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Comuzzo's buyout fee is set at €20 million.
About Eray Cömert
The 28-year-old Eray Cömert was born on February 4, 1998, in Rheinfelden, Switzerland. He is 1.83 meters tall and primarily plays as a center-back but can also play as a defensive midfielder. He holds dual Swiss and Turkish citizenship.
Cömert joined Cocordia Basel's youth academy at the age of 8, and moved to Basel's youth academy three years later. He began playing for their reserve team in the winter of 2015 before completing his Basel first-team debut in September 2016.
During his five-and-a-half-year spell at Basel, Cömert won the Swiss Super League title and the Swiss Cup title twice each. He also had loan spells at Lugano and Sion.
In January 2022, Cömert joined Valencia for €800,000.
From the following summer until the first half of 2025, Cömert played on loan at Nantes and Real Valladolid.
During his two-and-a-half-year spell with Los che, Cömert made 55 appearances for the La Liga club in all competitions, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist, during which he helped the team reach the Copa del Rey quarterfinals twice.
About Pietro Comuzzo
Pietro Comuzzo, who is still only 21 years old, was born on February 20, 2005 in San Daniele del Friuli, Italy. He is 1.85 meters tall and plays as a center back. His twin brother Francesco is also a footballer, but currently plays in the non-league.
Comuzzo joined the youth academy of non-league club Tricesimo at the age of 6. Later, he also played for the Udinese and Pordenone youth academies. In 2018, he joined the Fiorentina youth academy before completing his Fiorentina first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in October 2023.
Since his debut, Comuzzo has so far made 91 appearances for the Serie A club in all competitions, scored twice and has helped the team reach the UEFA Conference League semi-finals once.
