July 31 - According to the Associated Press, the Philadelphia 76ers have traded forward Johnny Bloom and a 2027 second-round draft pick to the Los Angeles Clippers. In return, the 76ers received cash compensation.
Under the trade agreement, the Clippers will acquire the second-highest second-round draft pick from the 76ers' three 2027 draft picks. This trade comes after the 76ers signed LeBron James , further accelerating the team's roster adjustments.
Bloom was selected 35th overall by the 76ers in the 2025 NBA Draft , but he did not get many opportunities in his rookie season, playing only 11 games for the team and spending most of his time with the 76ers ' G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Jackets.
In the G League, Bloom demonstrated solid interior skills, averaging 21.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game .
