Leicester City have announced the signing of Liam Cullen, with both sides agreeing to a three-year partnership.

Leicester City have officially announced the signing of striker Liam Cullen. The 27-year-old Welsh striker has joined permanently from Swansea City on a three-year contract. The transfer is still subject to approval from the English Football League (EFL) and international transfer procedures, and the transfer fee has not been disclosed. With his move to Leicester City, Cullen ends his 19-year career at Swansea.  

Liam Cullen came through Swansea's youth academy and completed his professional career at the club. During his time with the first team, he made 207 appearances in official matches, scoring 37 goals. Furthermore, the Welsh striker has made 15 appearances for the national team, accumulating valuable experience on the international stage.  

After completing his move, Liam Cullen said in an interview with Leicester City's official website : " I am very excited to be a part of Leicester City and can't wait to start a new journey. When this opportunity came to me, I was immediately attracted by the size of the club and its future development plans. I believe this is the best place for me to continue to grow."  

Speaking about the team's tactical philosophy, Liam Cullen said , " The style of play advocated by the team is very compatible with my characteristics. We want to control the ball more, push the game into the opponent's half, and score goals by constantly creating opportunities, which is exactly the style of play I like."  

“I can adapt to multiple positions in the attacking third. As for the specific role I will play, everything will be carried out according to the head coach’s instructions. For me, the most important thing is to contribute goals to the team, help the team win games, and work together to get the club back to where it belongs.”  

Born in Pembrokeshire, Wales, Liam Cullen joined Swansea's youth academy at the age of eight. His exceptional talent led him to his U18 debut at 13, from which he progressed steadily. In August 2018, he made his first-team debut in the League Cup against Crystal Palace, officially launching his professional career.  

In July 2020, Liam Cullen scored his first-team goal in Swansea's 4-1 Championship victory over Reading, helping the team qualify for the promotion play-offs. In January 2022, to gain more playing experience, he joined Lincoln City on loan.
