Ajax have officially announced the signing of Julian Brandt, with a contract running until 2029.

Ajax have officially announced the signing of German midfielder Julian Brandt. The deal was completed on a free transfer, with both parties signing a three-year contract effective immediately and running until June 30, 2029.  

Julian Brandt, 30, was born on May 2, 1996, in Werder Bremen, Germany. He has spent the past seven seasons playing for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga. Before joining Dortmund, he played for Bayer Leverkusen for six years, where his consistent and excellent performances established him as one of the most representative attacking midfielders in German football.  

To date, Julian Brandt has made 48 appearances for the German national team. With years of experience playing in the Bundesliga, Champions League, and international competitions, he has accumulated a wealth of high-level match experience.  

Ajax's technical director, Jordi Cruyff, said of Julian Brandt's signing : " We are delighted that Julian Brandt has ultimately chosen to join Ajax. The club has been in close contact with him over the past few months, while he also received offers from other teams."  

“Julian Brandt is an excellent player with international experience. He not only has outstanding competitive ability, but also demonstrates a high level of professionalism. I believe that his arrival will further enhance the team’s strength and bring significant improvements to the roster.”  

Speaking about his decision to join Ajax, Julian Brandt said : " This transfer may have been a bit of a surprise to outsiders, but for me, the past few days have been filled with anticipation and excitement. I am very happy to be here now. I believe the club's direction aligns perfectly with my career plans."
