Wearing the Liverpool jersey again, Elliott: There's never been a better feeling.

Liverpool will travel to Soldier Stadium in Chicago to face Leeds United in another friendly match. Elliott, in an interview, said that being able to wear the Liverpool shirt again felt like the best thing ever.

In their last friendly match, Liverpool defeated Wrexham 1-0 after Ngumoha scored, continuing to build momentum for the new season.

Liverpool midfielder Elliott, 23, said: "Everyone knows how much I love this club. I've been a Liverpool fan since I was a very young age. Joining Liverpool has always been my childhood dream. Wearing this shirt again now feels incredible."

In the 2025/26 season, Elliott was loaned to Aston Villa, but only made 9 appearances in all competitions.

Elliott said, "Last summer, I was looking for a new challenge and to step out of my comfort zone. I thought that would help me grow again and become a better player, but unfortunately, things didn't go as planned. Now it feels like a second chance for me, especially with the arrival of new head coach Andoni Iraola. I hope I can earn his trust."

“Andoni Iraola and the entire coaching staff are excellent. They have very clear requirements and expectations for the team, and every detail is well arranged. Although we are still in the process of getting the team in sync, I believe that everything will gradually get on track as more teammates return.”

Elliott continued, "I haven't shown 100% yet, and I think it will take some time. After all, I didn't get many playing opportunities last season. I don't know what the future holds, and I need to have further discussions with the manager. When the time is right, I will take the initiative to talk to him."

"All I can do now is give it my all and try to impress the manager. As for the future, I need to make a more careful decision. Whether I stay here and fight for my position, or go somewhere else, I must choose the path that best suits me."

Elliott added, "The smile on my face hasn't left me since the first day I walked back into the training center. I will never take this for granted when I'm wearing the Liverpool shirt again."

"Because last season, I thought it would be the last time I wore this shirt. There's nothing better than being able to play for Liverpool."
