Enjoy playing for Leeds United - Wilfrid Nionto: We must continue to improve on the existing foundation.

Leeds United, nicknamed the "White Army," are currently continuing training in the United States and will face fellow Premier League side Liverpool in a friendly match. Wilfrid Nionto stated that he thoroughly enjoys playing for Leeds United and emphasized that the team must continue to improve on its solid foundation.

In the 2025/26 season, Wilfrid Nionto made 23 appearances for Leeds United, who were promoted to the Premier League, and helped Daniel Falk's team achieve their goal of avoiding relegation by finishing 14th.

"This trip to the United States has been really great," said 22-year-old Wilfrid Nionto. "It's actually my second time in the United States, so it feels great to be able to change the environment and train at a different training facility."

“I think it’s an honor to play for Leeds United. I’ve been here for a long time, and playing in the Premier League is a huge challenge. So I think we have to keep improving on what we have now.”

Wilfrid Nionto noted, "We performed well last season, but we hope to be even better. It means a lot to me to be a part of this team, and I will try to enjoy every moment here."

“I would say that this place is like a big family, and everyone here makes each other feel very comfortable. I was very young when I came here, but the coaching staff, staff, teammates and fans have always taken good care of me.”

Furthermore, Wilfrid Nionto added, "So, I feel like a true Leeds United person now. I love everyone here and enjoy every minute I spend here, and I hope to have many more such moments in the future."
