Melton, 28 , played 49 games for the Warriors last season , starting 24 of them , averaging 12.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.6 steals per game, setting a new career high in scoring average. He missed the first 22 games of the season due to a left ACL injury , but quickly became an important rotation player after his return.
In 24 games as a starter , Melton averaged 12.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.7 steals, scoring over 20 points in 11 games , including a season-high 28 points against the Pelicans.
Melton, with eight years of NBA experience, has played 405 games in his career , starting 172 of them . He has played for the Warriors, Suns, Grizzlies, and 76ers . He averaged 9.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.4 steals per game.
He also played a total of 27 playoff games, averaging 6.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. In the 2018 NBA Draft, he was selected by the Rockets in the second round with the 46th overall pick, and subsequently played for the University of Southern California.
