August 3rd - According to ESPN, the Dallas Mavericks have reached a three-year, $52.2 million contract extension with forward Naji Marshall. Sources revealed that the contract is fully guaranteed and will extend Marshall's contract until the 2029-30 season.
In his second season with the Mavericks, 28- year-old Marshall had the best season of his career, setting new highs in points, assists, field goal percentage, and steals, and taking on a more significant offensive role for the team. Last season, he scored over 30 points in six games , compared to only two 30+ point performances in his previous career .
Over the past two seasons, this 2.01 - meter -tall forward has averaged more than 14 points per game for the Mavericks with a field goal percentage of 51% ; in contrast, he averaged less than 8 points per game during his four seasons with the Pelicans.
Furthermore, Marshall is one of the league's best floaters. Last season, he tied with Donovan Mitchell and Jalen Brunson as one of only three players to make at least 100 floaters.
