Chet Holmgren is still upset about his teammates being traded to other teams.

In July, the Oklahoma City Thunder traded some players to other teams, and Chet Holmgren recently said in an interview that it was really hard not to feel sad when he saw his teammates leave, but he still believes in the decisions made by the team's management.

Lugenz Dort and Aaron Wiggins were traded to the Atlanta Hawks in July, while Isaiah Joe was traded to the Detroit Pistons.

In the 2025/26 NBA regular season, Chet Holmgren played 69 games for the Oklahoma City Thunder, averaging 17.1 points per game with a 55.7% field goal percentage and a 36.2% three-point percentage. However, Holmgren's team lost to the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Finals, failing to defend their title.

Speaking about his departing teammates, 24-year-old Chet Holmgren said, "That's part of the business of professional basketball. No team can keep all 17 players together forever."

Even knowing this, seeing teammates I value leave doesn't lessen my sadness.

Chet Holmgren stated, "I have complete trust in our team's management and in every decision they make. I believe everything they do is to help the team stay on the right track."

Furthermore, Chet Holmgren stated, "Whether we lose in 2026 or win the championship last year, we get the same lesson. It's a reminder of just how difficult it is to win a championship."

"Nothing is guaranteed. We can give it our all, but we may still fail in the end. We must accept the fact that even without any guarantee of success, we must still give it our all."
