The Dallas Mavericks today released a special "trade offer": any fan who retrieves the 1-of-1 signature card of newly crowned Rookie of the Year Cooper Flagg's debut patch can exchange it for an extremely generous reward package.
The card, issued by Topps, was personally signed by Flagg last month. The Mavericks' trade-in package includes: two lower-tier season tickets for the next 32 years, a game-worn jersey signed by Flagg, and a post-game photo opportunity.
In addition, the lucky winner will receive an all-inclusive road trip to Boston, a private photo with the Rookie of the Year and championship trophies, a VIP tour of the team's training facility, and a private 10-person basketball experience at American Airlines Center.
Sports card investors predict this rare card is extremely valuable, with a potential auction price exceeding $1.5 million. Previously, in 2024, a fan who had unearthed a rare baseball star card, Paul Skans, rejected a 30-year season ticket exchange offer from the Pittsburgh Pirates, instead consigning the card to auction for $1.11 million.
Flagg displayed extraordinary talent last season, averaging 21 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game, and becoming the youngest player in NBA history to score 50 points. Now, this extremely rare rookie card is expected to break another commercial record for him off the court.
