Wes Burns has officially joined Leicester City and signed a three-year contract with the club.

Leicester City have officially announced the signing of Welsh winger Wes Burns from Ipswich Town. The transfer fee was not disclosed and is still pending league approval. The 31-year-old winger has signed a three-year contract with Leicester City. During his five seasons with Ipswich Town, Burns made 164 appearances, scoring 30 goals, and helped the team achieve promotion from League One to the Premier League.  

After joining Leicester City, Wes Burns said in an interview with the club's official website: "I'm really happy to be here. Now that everything is settled, I can focus on new challenges. Through conversations with the manager and several people I know at the club, I feel that the team has a clear development plan and hopes to get back to where I belong, which makes me even more excited for the future."  

"I hope to ignite the fans' passion with my performance and bring more goals and assists to the team. I am a winger who likes to push forward directly, prefers the traditional style of playing on the wing, and enjoys creating threats through one-on-one breakthroughs and delivering high-quality crosses into the penalty area to create opportunities for my teammates."  

Wes Burns was born in Cardiff, Wales, and came through the Bristol City youth academy, making his first-team debut in January 2013. During his development, he gained experience through loan spells at Forest Green Rangers, Oxford United, Cheltenham, Fleetwood Town, and Aberdeen. In January 2017, the Welsh winger officially left Bristol City, permanently joining Fleetwood Town.  

As a Welsh international, Wes Burns has made 10 appearances for the national team. During his time at Fleetwood Town, he made 164 appearances in all competitions, scoring 23 goals and helping the team reach the League One promotion play-offs twice. After transferring to Ipswich Town in the summer of 2021, he quickly established himself as a regular starter and developed into the team's attacking core. In his first season with the club, he finished as the team's top scorer and was selected for the League One Team of the Season.
