ESPN: Kevin Love has contacted the 76ers, hoping to reunite with LeBron James.

According to an ESPN report by Dave McMenamin on Friday, Utah Jazz star Kevin Love is considering joining the Philadelphia 76ers. Love's agent has been in contact with the team since LeBron James officially announced his move to the 76ers.

However, the 76ers currently have only $1.83 million in salary cap space left to reach the top tier of luxury spending. Without clearing cap space in advance, they won't have a chance to sign Love until at least December 4th.

To free up salary cap space, waiving 24-year-old Jabari Walker is the most direct way for the 76ers. However, Walker impressed the team last season as a backup forward: despite limited playing time, he still delivered an efficient average of 4.3 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. Given Walker's immense potential, the 76ers management currently prefers to keep him on the roster.

Kevin Love, 37, is a 2.08-meter tall, 114-kilogram forward who entered the NBA in 2008 as the fifth overall pick in the first round. During his career, he played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Miami Heat, appearing in 952 regular season games. He averaged 16.2 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 28.9 minutes per game, earning numerous individual accolades, including five All-Star selections and a rebounding title.

Love also played 88 playoff games, averaging 12.6 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 26.7 minutes per game. His most notable playoff achievement was undoubtedly winning the NBA championship with LeBron James for the Cavaliers in 2016.

In July 2025, Love was traded to the Utah Jazz in a three-team deal. He has played one season for the Jazz so far, appearing in 37 regular season games, averaging 6.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 16.6 minutes per game, with a field goal percentage of 39.7% and a three-point percentage of 37.3%.
