Jones will remain with the Nuggets for one year and $3.88 million, continuing to serve as a substitute in the new season.

The NBA has officially confirmed that the Denver Nuggets have re-signed Tyus Jones. All indications suggest that the two sides have reached a one-year, veteran minimum contract worth approximately $3.88 million.

Jones, 30, is a 6'6" (1.83m) and 89kg (4.5kg) point guard who entered the NBA in 2015 as the 24th overall pick in the first round. He has played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Memphis Grizzlies, Washington Wizards, Phoenix Suns, Orlando Magic, and Las Vegas Mavericks, appearing in a total of 738 regular season games. He averaged 7.3 points, 1.9 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.0 steals in 20.7 minutes per game, with a field goal percentage of 44.2% and a three-point percentage of 37.2%.

In March 2026, Jones joined the Nuggets as a free agent after being waived. He signed with the Nuggets until the end of the 2025/26 season and subsequently played 11 regular season games for the team, averaging 2.2 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 8.4 minutes per game.

Jones also played three times in the playoffs, averaging 3.0 points and 1.7 assists in 10.0 minutes per game. Unfortunately, the Nuggets ultimately lost 2-4 to the Timberwolves, ending their run in the first round of the playoffs.

With his new contract officially taking effect, Jones will be entering his 12th NBA season. He will continue to serve as Jamal Murray's backup point guard next season, while also filling the rotation gap left by Jalen Pickett's departure.
