Fiorentina announced on Friday that they have signed Argentine attacker Franco Mastantono on loan from Real Madrid. He will play for Fiorentina until the end of the 2026/27 season, with no option to buy.
According to multiple media reports, Mastantono's annual salary during his loan spell is approximately €3.5 million. Fiorentina is expected to cover 60% of his salary, with Real Madrid covering the remaining 40%. However, the actual amount Real Madrid will contribute will fluctuate based on the team's performance and Mastantono's individual performance.
The 18-year-old Mustango came through River Plate's youth academy and made his first-team debut on January 28, 2024. During his time at River Plate, he made 64 appearances in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing 7 assists.
In June 2025, Mustango transferred to Real Madrid for €63.2 million. To date, he has made 35 appearances for Real Madrid, but has only scored 3 goals.
It's worth noting that Mastantono is the youngest player to ever make an official appearance for the Argentine national team. He has made four appearances for Argentina to date, including three World Cup South American qualifiers.
After completing the signing, Mustango said, "I'm very excited. Today is a very special day for me. I've always wanted to join Fiorentina, and I'm very satisfied with the experience so far."
He added, "I chose Fiorentina because of its illustrious history. I'm thrilled to play for such a great club."
"Frankie Stadium is fantastic, it's very beautiful. The people here are very friendly, it makes you feel very comfortable."
