Dan Bentley: We will continue to maintain our training intensity and hope to carry this good form into the next game.

Wolves goalkeeper Dan Bentley stated that the team must maintain the positive momentum built after defeating Port Vale and carry that confidence into the upcoming Championship matches. Wolves ultimately secured a 3-0 victory over Port Vale, advancing to the next round of the League Cup. Dan Bentley also delivered an outstanding performance, successfully thwarting a penalty and keeping a clean sheet for his team.  

Wolves will now have a full week to prepare for their upcoming Championship opener. 33-year-old Dan Bentley hopes the team can maintain the confidence and momentum gained from this victory and continue to demonstrate that form when they travel to face Blackburn Rovers next week.  

Dan Bentley said: "We are very happy to have achieved this victory. It is crucial for the whole team to start the new season with a positive result, after all, this is our first real official game."  

"We successfully carried over the good form we built during the preseason tonight, and we hope this positive trend will continue and carry over into next week's game. The preseason is meant to help teams gradually get into form, establish their rhythm, and develop some important habits that can be maintained throughout the season. We did this very well tonight and were able to showcase these habits developed during training in the official game, which makes us very happy."  

"When a team can play fluid and composed football, the game becomes very enjoyable to watch, and we showed that for a considerable period tonight. Of course, there are still some areas where we need to improve. We seemed a bit hesitant at the start, but as the team gradually took control of the game and made more rational choices while in possession, we slowly began to take the initiative on the field."  

"Given the current quality of the players in the team, this performance is not surprising. Of course, we always need to give Port Vale enough respect. However, there were many periods in tonight's game where we did show a very high level of competition. We have many outstanding players in the team, and I am very happy to see everyone perform at this level."  

In the match against Port Vale, Dan Bentley made a crucial save, successfully thwarting a penalty and helping Wolves keep a clean sheet. He continued, "Aside from one early in the game when I rushed out to handle a through ball, I wasn't put to much of a test for about 60 minutes. For a goalkeeper, the most important thing is to be able to step up and perform when the team really needs you."  

“This time it just happened that I was facing a penalty, and throughout the rest of the season, there will definitely be many times when Jerson Mosquera will be the one to clear, block, and intercept in front of me. Today, it was my turn to step up and solve the problem for him, which is the responsibility of a goalkeeper. Fortunately, we managed to keep the ball in the goal in the end.”  

"We analyze the opponent's penalty kicks before the game, which has become an indispensable part of the preparation process in modern football. When I decide to move in a certain direction and make a save, if the opponent does not kick the ball to an unreachable position, I must adjust quickly according to the situation. If there is still a chance to touch the ball by stretching my leg or other body movements, I must do my best to block it."  

"Pre-match analysis of the opponent did help me a bit, but when it comes to making a save, you ultimately have to rely on your own judgment and technique to execute the action. As goalkeepers, we naturally hope to stop every penalty kick as much as possible. However, when such crucial moments really come, as long as we do our pre-match preparation and execution on the field perfectly, the feeling of ultimately succeeding is truly satisfying."  

Looking ahead to the Championship, Dan Bentley said: "We will carry on the positive feeling from tonight's game. Winning our first official match of the new season is very important for us, and we also showed good form in the two preseason games before that, and ultimately won them."  

"Next, we will refocus our attention on daily training, maintain a high level of commitment during this week's preparations, and hope to carry our current good form into the next game. Our plan will not change because of this; we will stick to our playing style, prepare according to our established rhythm, and do our best to secure three points."
