Harden's Texas gun case dropped, alternative resolution plan completed.

August 9th - According to the Associated Press, Cleveland Cavaliers star James Harden 's misdemeanor gun possession charge in Texas has been dropped by a court. Harden avoided criminal conviction and a criminal record after completing an alternative treatment program.

Harris County Criminal Court Judge Alex Salgado formally dropped the charges against James Harden on Thursday at the request of the local district attorney's office. This followed Harden's completion of an alternative treatment plan. Such plans typically allow defendants to avoid criminal convictions by fulfilling requirements such as community service, but court documents did not disclose the specific conditions Harden met in fulfilling them.

Harden was arrested in Houston on June 13 after police found a handgun in his car. Under Texas law, carrying a firearm in a vehicle in a " clearly visible " state without a license can constitute a misdemeanor, punishable by up to one year in jail and a $ 4,000 fine.
