Sammy Brebrook: I believe the team's form and performance will improve as the season progresses.

Leicester City midfielder Sammy Brebrook hopes to continue his good form with a winning start to the season. After helping his team defeat Northampton, the academy graduate stated that as the understanding between players improves, the team's overall performance will continue to improve.  

In the first round of the English League Cup last Saturday, Leicester City hosted Northampton Town at the King Power Stadium and won 1-0. Caleb Okoley scored the only goal of the match, helping his team secure qualification for the next round.  

Sami Brebrook played the full 90 minutes and made his first start for Leicester City. Speaking about the team's first win of the new season, he said: "It's certainly satisfying to finally get the win; we achieved our goal. I really enjoyed the game, and the fans who came today gave us tremendous support. Everyone wants to win, and as players on the pitch, we naturally give our all to achieve a good result for the team."  

“Some matches may not be easy, but I believe our performance will gradually improve as the season progresses. The team has added several new players this year, and they have been here for some time and have adapted very well. As we train and play together, we will build more chemistry and understand each other’s strengths better, which I believe will help the team’s overall strength continue to improve.”  

For Sami Brebrook, this match held another important significance. It had been almost four years since his first appearance for Leicester City's first team, also in the League Cup. Now, finally making his first start, the 22-year-old midfielder was naturally very excited, but he also understood that this was just the beginning and he still needed to continue working hard.  

Sammy Brebrook said: "It's been a long time since I made my first-team debut, so I'm really happy to have this starting opportunity. I hope to take this game as a new starting point and continue to improve myself. I've been nurtured at Leicester City since I was a kid, and it feels really special to finally make my official debut as a starter."  

“I think this is one of the things that a kid who joins the club at a young age would most look forward to. So when I finally did it, I was naturally very happy, and it was a moment that I cherished very much.”  

Sammy Brebrook has previously been called up to England's youth teams at various levels. Entering the new season, he hopes to leverage more playing time to showcase his abilities and gradually establish himself in Leicester City's first team. With new signings adapting to the team and more academy graduates gaining experience, Brebrook believes there is still room for improvement in the team's cohesion and overall competitiveness.
