Evan Guess has joined Crystal Palace on loan for one season.

Crystal Palace have officially announced the return of Evan Guessan. The Ivorian international will once again join Crystal Palace on loan from Aston Villa for one season, with an option to buy included in the agreement.  

In the second half of last season, Evan Guessán briefly joined Crystal Palace, making 14 appearances and scoring 2 goals. One of his goals came during the team's UEFA Champions League title run, and he also came on as a substitute in the final against Rayo Vallecano, witnessing Crystal Palace defeat Rayo Vallecano to win the title.  

This technically gifted attacker developed his skills in Marseille and played for Lausanne-Sport and Nantes early in his career. After transferring to Nice in the 2024/25 season, he experienced a major breakthrough, scoring 12 goals in all competitions and being named the club's Player of the Season.  

After half a season with Aston Villa, Evan Guessan was loaned to Crystal Palace, a transfer that gave him unique European experience. Before joining Crystal Palace, he had already won the Europa League with Aston Villa and then helped Crystal Palace win another European title, thus becoming the first player to achieve this feat in a single season.  

Entering the new season, Evan Guessán is looking to once again challenge Crystal Palace for European titles and hopes to continue the success of last season. With his return, Crystal Palace's summer signings reach four, following the previous acquisitions of Oscar Mingueza, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Dwight McNeil.  

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish said: “We are delighted to see Evan Guessang back with the team. Last season, he proved his excellent individual ability and showed everyone his great potential. We believe his addition will continue to help the team and we look forward to him continuing his good performance in the new season. We are equally excited for the upcoming season.”  

Evan Guess said: “I’m really happy to be back at Crystal Palace. I had many unforgettable moments and made many wonderful memories last time I was here, but I believe that was just the beginning. Now I hope to start afresh and create more memorable experiences in the future.”
