North American esports powerhouse NRG announced on Wednesday via its official X (Twitter) account that two former Lotus players, support Shogo and bot laner Mixtsure, will be joining their League of Legends division as substitutes.
According to NRG's official statement, Shogo and Mixtsure will play as substitutes in the North American Challenger League (NACL) Summer Split Regular Season. If the club successfully qualifies for the playoffs, the original roster is expected to return.
NRG explained that the addition of these two players is closely related to the urgent departure of two other players. Bot laner Sushee has already scheduled a medical consultation due to health issues.
Chinese-American jungler Lu Mingyi (ID: Spica) must return to university due to academic commitments.
Sheep Esports analyzed that NRG's move to add Shogo and Mixtsure is a well-thought-out strategy.
Prior to this, Shogo has already won several college league championships and is a highly anticipated rising star.
In June, both players represented Lotus in the NACL Summer Qualifier.
Lotus marks the first time Shogo and Mixtsure have played together on the same team. Previously, this American League of Legends Tier 2 team proved their ability to compete with other North American league teams by defeating AMI 2-0. However, they failed to defeat Blue Otter to advance to the NACL Summer Qualifiers finals.
