In a recent interview, Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone discussed how his mindset towards football has changed with age and expressed his hope to remain more composed in future matches.

In the 2025/26 La Liga season, Atletico Madrid finished fourth and secured a Champions League spot after achieving a record of 21 wins, 6 draws, and 11 losses.

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone said, "Now that I'm 56, I'm not the same person I was at 41. I'm starting to realize that sometimes it's more important to focus on the present and the week, and enjoy the moment. In any case, we will give our all to the game, but life isn't just about football."

When asked about his emotions during team matches, Diego Simeone said, "I hope I can be calmer than I appear, and I've been trying to do that, but people may not notice. When I'm sitting on the bench, I probably wouldn't hear an explosion even if it happened hundreds of meters away from the pitch."

"I just hope that one day I can really calm down and become one of those coaches who sit quietly on the sidelines and watch the game."
