Romelu Lukaku has officially joined Fenerbahce from Napoli for a transfer fee of €6 million.

Fenerbahce announced on Wednesday the signing of Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku. Lukaku transferred from Napoli and signed a "1+1" contract.

Several journalists, including Gianluca Di Marzio, further pointed out that Lukaku's transfer fee was approximately €6 million. His fixed annual salary at Fenerbahce is expected to reach €5 million, plus €1 million in performance-related bonuses.

The 33-year-old Lukaku came through the Anderlecht youth academy and made his professional debut for the first team in the Belgian First Division on May 24, 2009. He subsequently played for several clubs, including Chelsea, West Bromwich Albion, Everton, Manchester United, Inter Milan, and Roma, winning numerous prestigious titles, including two Belgian First Division titles, one Club World Cup, one FA Cup, one Serie A title, one Coppa Italia, and one Italian Super Cup.

In August 2024, Lukaku transferred to Napoli for €30.7 million. To date, he has made 45 appearances for Napoli, scoring 15 goals and providing 11 assists, winning the Serie A title and the Italian Super Cup with the team.

Lukaku has also made 132 appearances for the Belgian national team, contributing 93 goals and 20 assists. His greatest achievement to date is undoubtedly winning third place in the 2018 World Cup.

Immediately after completing the transfer, Lukaku addressed Fenerbahce fans, saying, "Dear Fenerbahce fans, hello. I feel incredibly honored to join a club with such a glorious history and to be a part of it."

“We have a very good team, and I’m happy to be a part of it. I will do my best to help the team, train hard day after day, and give my all on the training ground and in matches. To help the team win, I want every moment I spend on the field to be worthwhile.”

“I want to thank the club’s board of directors and head coach. First, I thank them for their trust in me personally, and also for recognizing my skills. I am fully prepared and ready to step onto the pitch at any time.”

"This is a very touching moment for me. After many years, I have finally returned to Turkey. As everyone knows, I lived here when I was a child; it was here that my father and I explored the world of professional football. Therefore, returning here means a lot to me. And I am even more proud to return to Turkey as a Fenerbahce player."

Thank you for your support. I look forward to seeing you all again.
