Lens announced on their official website on Thursday that Benfica's Croatia international forward Franjo Ivanović has joined the club on-loan.
According to the Ligue 1 dark horse's official statement, Ivanović will play for the club on-loan until the end of the new season, and the loan agreement does not include any option to buy.
About Franjo Ivanović
Franjo Ivanović, who is only still 22 years old, was born on October 1, 2003, in Schwan, Austria. He is 1.82 meters tall and primarily plays as a center forward, but can also play as a left winger or attacking midfielder. He holds dual Austrian and Croatian citizenship.
Ivanović joined Augsburg's youth academy at the age of 13 and began playing for their reserve team in 2021.
In the summer of 2023, Ivanović joined Rijeka on a free transfer. During his time there, he won the Croatian First Division title.
On the following year's summer trnsfer window deadline day, Ivanović joined Union Saint-Gilloise for €3 million. During his time there, he won the Jupiler Pro League title with the team.
In July 2025, Ivanović joined Benfica for €22.8 million.
Last season, Ivanović made 43 appearances for the Portuguese Primeira Liga giants in all competitions, scoring 8 goals and providing 3 assists. During which he helped the team win the Portuguese Super Cup, reached the semi-finals of the Taça da Liga and the quarter-finals of the Taça de Portugal.
