Fiorentina officially announce the signing of Parma's Argentine forward Mateo Pellegrino..

Fiorentina announced on Friday on its official website that the club has signed Parma's Argentine forward Mateo Pellegrino.

According to Fiorentina’s official statement, Pellegrino has signed on a long-term five-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2031. He will wear the No. 32 jersey.

After completing the transfer procedures, Pellegrino, who was interviewed by the Fiorentina official website for the first time, said, “This is a very happy moment. I am incredibly excited to join this club. I feel very proud. I can’t wait to start this new chapter and give my all for Fiorentina.”

“This is a club with a glorious history, and many top players have played here. It’s naturally an honor when people associate your name with Fiorentina. That’s why I chose this club.”

“If possible, I want to perform even better. I work hard every day to improve myself, both as a player and as a person. Now, I hope to do everything I can to help Fiorentina.”

About Mateo Pellegrino

The 24-year-old Pellegrino was born on June 22, 2001, in Valencia, Spain. He is 1.92 meters tall and primarily plays as a center forward, but can also play as a left winger, left midfielder, or left wing-back. He holds dual Spanish and Argentine citizenship. His father, Mauricio, is a former Argentina international center-back who played for Valencia and Liverpool during his playing career. He is currently the Lanús head coach.

Pellegrino joined the youth academy of his father's former club, Valencia, at a young age. He later played for Inter Milan's youth academy after his father became a first-team coach at the club, and in 2018, he joined Vélez Sarsfield's youth academy again because his father was then the head coach there.

In March 2021, Pellegrino completed his Vélez Sarsfield first-team debut by coming on as a substitute, arranged by his father.

From the following summer until the end of 2024, Pellegrino played for Estudiantes de La Plata and Platense on-loan successively.

On the 2025 winter transfer window deadline day, Pellegrino joined Parma for €2 million.

During his time at I Crociati, Pellegrino made 52 appearances for the Serie A club in all competitions, scored 15 goals and provided 2 assists.
