The Nuggets signed Nembhard to a two-way contract and waived K.J. Simpson.

According to a report by ESPN's Shams Charania on Wednesday, Ryan Nembhardt has agreed to join the Denver Nuggets. The two sides are expected to reach a one-year two-way contract; other details are currently unknown.

Meanwhile, the Nuggets officially waived 24-year-old two-way guard K.J. Simpson. The Denver Post's Bennett Durant explicitly stated that this move was intended to make room for the arrival of Nembuhad.

Nembhard, 23, is a 6'8" guard who will enter the NBA as an undrafted free agent in 2025. He initially signed a two-way contract with the Dallas Mavericks and was converted to a regular contract this March.

During his time with the Mavericks, Nembhard played a total of 60 regular season games, averaging 6.6 points, 2.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists in 19.5 minutes per game, with a field goal percentage of 41.5% and a three-point percentage of 35.6%.

Nembuhad's career path has been tumultuous since the start of the offseason. He was first traded from the Mavericks to the Atlanta Hawks, then to the Charlotte Hornets. After being waived by the Hornets last week and clearing waivers, he officially became a free agent.

For the Nuggets, Nembuhad's arrival will further bolster their perimeter rotation depth. Besides Nembuhad, the Nuggets currently have Bryce Robert Hopkins and Cam Whitmore on two-way contracts.
