On September 30th local time, Argentina played a friendly match against Bolivia in Córdoba. They ultimately won 4-0, celebrating their first victory since the World Cup.
Facing a Bolivia side with a clear disparity in strength, Argentina quickly took the lead after the opening whistle. In the 19th minute, Alexis McAllister delivered a through ball, and Lautaro Martinez adjusted his position in front of the penalty area before firing a low shot to open the scoring. In the 29th minute, Ezequiel Palacios' long pass linked up with the sprinting Nico Paz, who broke into the penalty area and chipped the ball over the goalkeeper to extend Argentina's lead.
Near the end of the first half, Argentina launched another threatening attack: Julián Álvarez received a cross from Palacios and used his speed to create a one-on-one opportunity, but his low shot ultimately failed to test the goalkeeper. With Guillermo Vizcarra making a save from Álvarez's one-on-one chance, the Albiceleste went into halftime with a two-goal lead.
The second half began with both sides switching ends. In the 54th minute, Argentina further extended their lead: Paz took a free kick from the left side of the attacking third, and Cristian Romero headed it in to score again. In the 75th minute, the Pampas Eagles had a free kick opportunity on the right side of the penalty arc, but Alvarez's direct shot went slightly wide. In the 77th minute, Franco Mustango's corner kick from the right was headed wide by Ezequiel Fernandez at the near post.
In the 86th minute, Alvarez crossed from the right side of the penalty area, and José López's shot was ruled offside. Lionel Flores then broke through on the left wing and snatched the ball from the jaws of defeat, allowing López to score with a low shot inside the penalty area and seal the victory for Argentina.
